Phuket Travel Guide

Phuket is the largest island of Thailand. It is not only the largest island but it is also the wealthiest as well the busiest island of Thailand. Every year you would find leisure travelers flocking to this island.

Overview: The Island is often referred to as the pearl of Andaman and the 'pearl of the south'. Lush green tropical forests, pristine white sand beaches and limestone cliffs have made this island abundant in natural resources. Phuket was first mentioned by Ptolemy, the famous Greek historian. For years Phuket welcomed merchants and with them various immigrants too. The city enjoys wonderful tropical climate which is warm and wet.

Sightseeing: Beaches are the primary sightseeing spots of Phuket. Kamala Beach, Kalim Beach, Patong Beach are the three most visited beaches of Phuket. Other interesting attractions include Krathu Cultural Conservation Center, Phuket Fantasea, the cultural theme park and Ao Chalong bay which has the largest and most visited pier of Thailand.

Things to do: In Phuket not only can you enjoy various sightseeing spots but you can also enjoy shopping. Shopping in Phuket is an experience to cherish. Lots of shopping malls are there in Phuket where you can buy whatever you want. There are night bazaars also where you would get local items for a cheaper rate. When you are in the beaches then you should go for scuba diving, snorkeling and other adventure sports.

Dining: In Phuket you would not only get traditional Thai delicacies and wonderful sea food but also equally good international delicacies. The restaurants and street side stalls are open till late night serving the delicacies to the tourists.

Accommodation: In this island city of Thailand you would find world class accommodation since all the major hotel groups have their presence here. Seaview Patong Hotel, Sea Sun Sand Hotel, Holiday Inn Resort are some of the hotels that you can find here.

Useful information: In Phuket you would enjoy warm climate all throughout therefore when you are here then you should have cotton clothes with you. If you want you can carry a raincoat too. Healthcare system and law and order situation is of much better quality and therefore you will not face any problem while visiting Phuket.
